Verkhovna Rada spokesman Dmitry Razumkov admitted that Ukrainian society is not yet ready to legalize short-barreled weapons, prostitution and marijuana, neither mentally, nor religiously nor historically. He expressed this opinion in an interview with the Ukrainian news portal.

Razumkov said that he personally does not support the decriminalization of soft drugs, even for medical purposes. “I’ve never used it myself, and when it comes to medical purposes, we often have bad ideas under a nice banner. For this reason, I do not support it ”, explained the politician.

One of the first to advocate for the use of marijuana in Ukraine for medical purposes was the former acting Health Minister Ulyana Suprun. He noted that cannabis helps alleviate the suffering of patients and normalizes well-being in a number of serious diseases and conditions, and its use in medicine, with certain reservations, is “normal world practice.”

Ukraine’s Ministry of Health admitted that parliament could consider a bill on the legalization of medicinal cannabis. In June, a mass demonstration was held near the Ukrainian president’s office in Kiev, demanding to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes.
