In Kryvyi Rih, Hundreds of Miners Go on Strike Underground

Employees of other companies in Krivoy Rog and the region report on protest moods in labor collectives, Mikhail Volynets noted.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, at the Krivoy Rog (KZHRK) iron ore plant, miners from the Batkivshchyna mine supported their colleagues from the Oktyabrskaya mine, who have been protesting underground for five days, and also started a clandestine protest .

This was announced by the president of the Independent Union of Miners of Ukraine, Mykhailo Volynets, on his Facebook page on Monday, September 7.

At first, Volynets reported 84 striking miners, but later said that another 130 people had joined them, and the total number of protesters reached 214 people.

According to him, the demands are in solidarity with the Oktyabrskaya mine strikers: an increase in wages, an improvement in working conditions, the return of preferential work experience according to the 1,2 lists, the termination of violations during the certification.

Volynets added that Batkivshchyna mine workers actively participated in demonstrations in support of the underground Oktyabrskaya protesters.

Furthermore, according to Volynts, workers from other companies in Krivoy Rog and the region report on the mood of protest in labor collectives.

“There is information that other workers of the KZhRK mines: Batkivshchyna, Oktyabrskaya, Gvardeyskaya and Ternovskaya are preparing for an Italian strike. That is, they will not do related work that will not be paid, they will not start work in case of violation of the rules security in the company. manpower in case of equipment failure, “he added.

Previously, in the Lviv region, miners from the Nadezhda mine refused to surface and protested against non-payment of wages. According to Volynets, the action is still ongoing, but 18 people are taking part in it. The rest were brought to the surface due to deteriorating health.
