Romanian specialist Mircea Lucescu, who spent 12 years working with Shakhtar, said he had a dialogue with Pitmen president Rinat Akhmetov, during which the manager explained to his former boss why he decided to take over Dynamo Kiev.
“First of all, I missed Ukraine. I wanted to go back here where I got good results. I explained to Rinat Akhmetov why I did this. She wished me luck and understood why I decided to take that step. “
“I wanted to go back to football and get into a championship that is changing, starting to grow. I was also attracted by the fact that there were young players at the Dynamo Kiev, many told me about their talents and how they will have to become world famous to play for great teams. This is what a coach should do: help young footballers grow, ”said Lucescu.
As a reminder, Mircea Lucescu already managed to beat Shakhtar with a score of 3: 1 with the Dynamo and win the 2020 Ukrainian Super Cup.
