During today’s protest action in Minsk, the Belarusian security forces have already detained several dozen people. A member of the opposition headquarters is among those arrested.

This was reported by the Belarusian human rights organization Viasna.

The arrests took place near the Minsk motorcycle plant and the Pushkinskaya and Vostok metro stations. Security forces detained people carrying white, red and white flags.

Overall, the security forces detained at least 78 people. Among those detained is a member of the opposition coordination council Olga Pavlova, a journalist for Belarusian radio Ratsiya Artem Sizintsev, as well as the director of Ecohouse Irina Sukhy. The latter were taken from the house and taken to the Sovetskiy District Department of Internal Affairs.

Let us remind you that a large-scale protest action is taking place in Minsk today demanding new presidential elections in Belarus. BRDM military vehicles, as well as armored personnel carriers with machine guns, were brought into the city.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the protesters reached the Lukashenka administration, which is guarded by security forces with armored vehicles.

In addition, it was learned that at least 10 people were arrested during the protests in the cities of Belarus.
