On Sunday, September 6, Belarus will host the March of Unity, an action in support of detained Belarusians and for the independence of Minsk from the influence of Moscow.
The current week of protests in Belarus was marked by a new wave of violence and arbitrariness on the part of the security forces against protesters, journalists and random people: they were arrested, dispersed and beaten.
However, Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said that protest actions in Belarus will not stop.
At 14:00 on Sunday, September 6, Belarusian Telegram channels announced the start of a large-scale Unity March, to be held in Minsk and other cities in the country.
«It is time to show the whole world that we are one with those who are detained every day and who have been in prisons for a long time, that we are united in our independence. Let the invaders hold as many negotiations with the Kremlin as they want, but everything will be decided by the people themselves, ”reads the announcement of the March of Unity.
The protesters were asked to take away portraits of detained friends and family, posters in support of students, journalists and Catholics, as well as Belarusian political prisoners.
