Chancellor urged to abandon the gas pipeline

Christian social unions, led by Chancellor Angela Merkel, do not intend to refuse to participate in the Nord Stream 2 construction project, Bloomberg reported.

It should be noted that the chancellor was called to abandon the pipeline after it was established that they tried to poison Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny with Novichok.

However, “now neither Merkel’s bloc led by the Christian Democrats, nor its partners from among the Social Democrats, will probably support this demand,” the agency stressed.

Sources of the publication in the Bundestag point to three reasons for this decision by Merkel and her followers.

We remind you that in August The European Union sent a protest note to the United States Department of State, which banned further intervention by Washington in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea.
