Grigory Sinchenko, who is detained in occupied Donetsk, slit his wrists and wrote a protest against torture in his bloody cell. His mother Tatyana Gulevskaya told about this.
The Ukrainian Grigory Sinchenko, kidnapped for the third time by militants of the DPR, opened his veins due to torture in Donetsk SIZO. His mother Tatiana Gulevskaya informed the agency “Ukrinform” about it.
“They brutally beat him, demanding that they hand over our lawyer and sign the one they want. Grisha cut his wrists and wrote a protest against torture in his cell with blood,” he said.
Grigory is now in a hospital in a remand center, in solitary confinement, Gulevskaya said. She named the investigator who, according to her son, was involved in the torture and beatings: Stanislav Koshevoy.
Sinchenko was arrested for the first time on December 2, 2016. The militants charged him with partisan activities, illegal possession of weapons and blowing up the tower of the mobile operator Phoenix.
In December 2017, Sinchenko returned to Ukraine as part of a detainee exchange. According to her mother, she wanted revenge on the militants for torturing them.
In October 2019, Sinchenko was again detained by “DPR special services”. In May 2020, information appeared in the ORDO media that the hostage had escaped. Local television showed a photo of Grigory with traces of scars and burns on his face, promising a reward for his capture.
In July, the “DPR Interior Ministry” reported that Sinchenko had been arrested again. Gulevskaya believes that the people he turned to for help turned him over to the militants.
