The statements of DNR leader Denis Pushilin are false and are aimed at breaking the agreements of the trilateral contact group of July 22 on the fulfillment of a total and complete ceasefire in Donbas, said the commander of the Forces operation. Joint, Lieutenant General Vladimir Kravchenko.
The Ukrainian army did not violate the agreements in the village of Shumy. Pushilin demanded today that starting at 8:00 am on September 7, the Ukrainian military must vacate the fortified positions in the Shumy settlement area, as they were allegedly established “illegally”. According to the DNR leader, Russian terrorist troops are going to shoot at these positions.
Ukraine on September 6 calls an emergency meeting of the trilateral contact group due to Pushilin’s threats.
The Shumy settlement, Toretsky district (not far from Gorlovka) came under the full control of the Joint Forces in the summer of 2018.
On July 22, 2020, the Trilateral Contact Group agreed to a full and complete ceasefire in Donbas starting at midnight on July 27. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the Joint Forces in Donbass would respond to enemy bombardments even after the ceasefire went into effect.
According to the Chief of the General Staff – Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak, the ceasefire is being implemented on both sides, isolated cases of its violation are not systemic in nature.
On August 26, the JFO headquarters reported that during the first month of a full and complete ceasefire in Donbas, there were no combat losses or injuries in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.
