Ukraine is ready to help Belarus overcome the internal political crisis without weakening its sovereignty and independence. The democratic and stable development of Belarus is of vital importance for Ukraine and Europe.

This statement was made by the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, during an informal meeting of the UN Security Council using the Arria formula.

At the same time, the minister noted that Ukraine has never interfered and does not plan to interfere in the internal affairs of Belarus.

“I hope that all countries, first of all, this concerns Russia, adhere to the same position and refrain from any action, including military intervention, that may further destabilize the situation in Belarus,” he stressed.

Kuleba added that the main prerequisites for restoring stability in Belarus are respect for human rights and dialogue between the authorities, the opposition and the people.

Let us remind you that recently Kuleba reacted to Belarus’ accusations of alleged interference by Ukraine in its internal affairs and threatened it with “tough measures”.

In addition, a working meeting on the situation in Belarus was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
