Euro 2021 (U21). Denmark 1: 1 Ukraine. We missed a win in the closing seconds ᐉ UA-Football

More was expected of Denmark as the leader of the group. The owners had only a small territorial advantage, they did not take risks and did not create more dangerous moments than the Ukrainians. Rotan charges have more shots on goal and meaningful, crisp combinations. In game terms, a draw can be considered a natural result, if not for a “but”.

The first part turned out to be somewhat cautious, with almost no high speeds and too tense, the teams seemed to be watching each other closely. Nobody wanted to advance with great strength. On the field the players of the middle line stood out, who often entered the martial arts of power.

After about 50 minutes, the rivals were still scattered, Ukraine made several high-speed attacks, Sikan and Buletsa made their mark, Lunev and Topalov entered the game well. The latter helped score the first major goal, after a good pass, Topalov had no right to miss Sikan – 0: 1.

Denmark added to the aggressiveness, the first defeat in the national team was not included in their plans, and the Ukrainians began to play on hold. Closer to the final whistle, the Vikings went all the way, having squeezed the blue-yellows. It was quite a controversial goal, after a real clash, the attacking team seemed to miss, but the referee counted the goal, probably because the Danes attacked with more courage and aggressiveness.

Rotan’s team already had little chance of continuing to fight for the continental championship, and after this tie (the first in the standings), they can prepare for new tournaments. The Ukrainians get a surprisingly unsuccessful European campaign this time.
