Traces of the military substance Novichok were found not only on the body of the poisoned Alexei Navalny (leader of the Russian opposition), but also on his things, in particular, in a bottle of water. However, there is no evidence that poison entered Navalny’s body with this particular water.

He writes about this German Spiegel edition, citing sources.

The publication writes that after Navalny’s poisoning was confirmed, German Chancellor Angela Merkel brought together just six ministers so as not to draw much attention by convening a full security cabinet. At the meeting, a representative of the Bundeswehr Munich Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology said that the poison found belongs to the “Novichok” group of neuro-paralytic agents.

“Traces were found not only in Navalny’s blood, urine and skin samples, but also on the bottle that he took on a trip … Navalny allegedly drank from the bottle when he was already poisoned and left traces of poison in it” writes Spiegel.

As a reminder, today NATO, in connection with the Navalny poisoning, demanded that Russia disclose its program for the production of Novichok.

In addition, Ukraine also expressed its position on this incident.

On August 20, 2020, Navalny flew from Tomsk to Moscow, on board he felt ill and the plane landed urgently in Omsk. At the hospital, he fell into a coma. His representatives stated that on the day of departure he did not eat anything, only drank tea at Tomsk airport. After being transferred to the Charite clinic in Berlin, German toxicologists determined that he had been poisoned by Novichok.
