Requirements for PC, ray tracing on consoles and first frames on Xbox One X – Gaming addiction

For Authors Digital Foundry managed to visit the office Crytek to meet the remaster Crysis On PS4, Xbox One and PC: Closer to the release of these versions, there will be many videos from different directions, including the study of ray tracing on consoles.

The highlight in the debut video of the cycle were the first shots of the shooter on the Xbox One X. There are not many, and the FPS counter in the upper right corner also shows an incorrect value, but this at least is something.

What’s more interesting is that the Xbox One X (and probably the PS4 Pro) will have three performance modes at once:

  • 4K at 30 FPS (with correct framing)
  • 1080p with FPS unlocked
  • Ray tracing mode.

As noted on Digital Foundry, ray tracing mode was a nice surprise on consoles. With him, the game not only works well, it also shows Crysis like no one else has seen it.

According to Crytek and DF, the project team is closely monitoring the public’s reaction to news about the game and trying to accommodate all reasonable requests, which is why, for example, the remastering was postponed a couple of months to get more improvements.

The studio intends to work on updates after launch, if of course they are necessary.
