Fire in the Kharkov region

Assigning a state of emergency to fires will help residents receive compensation for burned-out homes.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Aleksey Kucher said that due to a large-scale fire that started in the Dvurechansky forestry territory in the Kharkiv region, a regional emergency was declared. The corresponding decision on Thursday, September 3, was taken by the Kharkiv Regional Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety.

“The decision has been made to declare an emergency at the regional level, which will facilitate the receipt of payments from the state to compensate people who have lost their homes as a result of the fire,” Kucher said.

As reported, on September 2, a coniferous forest caught fire on the Dvurechansk Forestry Territory. At the time of the arrival of the rescuers, it was found that the fire covered about 80 hectares, later the area of the fire increased to 500 hectares.

Later it became known that the fire in the Kharkiv region completely destroyed the village. One settlement was destroyed by fire, two more towns have fire places. The number of victims is being investigated. Today an approximate amount of fire losses was announced in the Kharkiv region.
