While the Ukrainian team fought with Switzerland, Germany and Spain faced each other in a parallel match of Group 4 Division A of the Nations League. Both teams approached the informational match with compositions that were far from optimal, but the head coaches were able to check the interactions between other players, including the debutants of the national teams. Immediately after the opening whistle, the Spanish took the ball under their control, but were in no rush to attack. Over time, the Bundestim took the initiative and did not stand up in ceremony with the opponent, often hitting the goal.

The first to distinguish himself could be Kerer, who struck with his head after the filing of Kroos, but De Gea held his blow, giving the ball to the corner. A few minutes later, Draxler could have scored, who shot on goal from an advantageous position – De Gea rescued again, moving the ball to another corner. Roja Fury responded with an episode involving Rodrigo, who threw the ball to Trapp, but then forgot to shoot at goal, allowing it to be stolen. Minutes later, De Gea showed a great reaction again, in a beautiful jump, reflecting a dribble from Sana. Over time, Joachim Loew’s defenders gave the ball to an opponent, going into the game as the second number.

The guests attacked with great forces, but this did not bring much benefit to the team. The attacks of the Luis Enrique charges rarely ended in shots on goal, and even those cannot be called dangerous. The hosts fled several times in counterattacks, but none ended in anything good. Towards the end of the first half, Spain’s advantage became more tangible. He began to get closer and closer to Trapp’s door, but the matter did not reach the targeted final blow. In the last minute of the half, Rodrigo could still open the scoring by running away from Jan, but then the striker fired straight at Trapp. The teams went to rest with “zeros” on the scoreboard.

Immediately after the break, Luis Enrique released national team debutant Anssumane Fati onto the field, who was supposed to add speed to the team in attack. It is true that the beginning of the half for the Spanish did not work out, as they conceded an early goal. In the 51st minute, Werner received a pass from Gosens, improved his position and sent the ball into the goal – 1: 0. In two minutes, Sane was able to double the Germans’ lead, but it took too long to prepare a shot on goal, so he lost the ball. A minute later, Ruiz cut the ball into his own net after a corner kick, but De Gea was alert and backed his teammate.

After a while, Roha Fury recovered and actively advanced. Rodrigo almost tied the score with an elusive shot from outside the area, but lacks a bit of precision. The Spanish attacked in great forces, for which they soon almost paid. Sane could have scored, but decided to share the ball with Werner, but made an awkward pass, making it difficult for Timo to hit the mark, the striker fired off the mark. The rival responded to this moment with Ruiz, who tried to push the ball to Trapp in hand-to-hand combat, but lost the duel full time to the goalkeeper.

Lev’s barriers finally sank completely in his half of the field, again counting only on counterattacks. The guests again and again loaded the ball into the penalty area, but it did not bring any benefit. In one of the episodes, Fati sent the ball into the net, but the goal was not awarded due to an offside position. The Spanish were unable to score from the game and there were no prerequisites for it. Having withstood the onslaught from the opponent’s side, the hosts went ahead and created two more chances to score. First, De Gea sent the ball under the crossbar after hitting Züle, moving the ball to a corner, and then Rüdiger missed an excellent opportunity to score without hitting the goal at point-blank range.

At the end of the match, Luis Enrique’s team threw all their forces into attack and scored again with Fati’s effort, but this time his goal was not counted, now due to Ramos’ lack in attack. Spain failed to equalize in injury time, but were very lucky that the head referee added another minute. In the end, Gaia scored a saving goal, passing the ball into the net after Rodrigo’s discount. After the players celebrated the goal, the final whistle sounded, setting a tie, which the Bundestim, who were seconds from victory, certainly cannot be proud of. At the end of the first round, the teams scored a point and shared the second or third place in the standings.

In the second round, Germany will visit Switzerland and Spain will host Ukraine.
