For the second day in a row, Belarusian security agents have detained students who are going to protest. It is known about the detention of students of the Minsk State Linguistic University and the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
In Minsk, students again went to protests over the results of the presidential elections in the country. In particular, a solidarity action is taking place under the building of the Minsk State Linguistic University, reports the Country for Life Live Telegram channel.
The same channel published a video in which the riot police detained several students at the meeting.
Attempts are also being made to detain students inside the university. “Country for Life Live” published a video in which the students were chained in the lobby of the building, not being allowed to pick up the protesters, they chanted “Shame” and “Out”.
NEXTA Live reports that the students are also being detained in Vitebsk. A student from the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine was captured by police officers and taken away in an unknown address.

Student protests continue in Belarus for the second day. On September 1, 150 students gathered at the main entrance of the Belarusian National Technical University. They headed toward the Plaza de la Independencia. Subsequently, the number of protesters increased to about 200 people. Soon, riot police began to disperse and arrest them. According to human rights activists, 79 people were detained in Minsk.
Mass protests have been going on in Belarus since August 9. The protesters believe that the results of the presidential elections, which were held from August 4-9, were falsified. According to official data, the current president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, won with 80.1% of the voters. Opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya came in second with 10.1% of the vote. The rest of the candidates earned less than 2%. At the same time, alternative exit polls showed the opposite picture: Tikhanovskaya’s confident victory.
The Belarusian security forces violently dispersed the demonstrations, in particular with the use of stun grenades, rubber bullets and water cannons. During the protests, more than 7,000 protesters were arrested (many of them have already been released), hundreds were injured and wounded. According to official figures, four protesters died.
