The People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Boris Klyuev died at the age of 77. He had lung cancer.
The death of the actor was reported to RBC in the press service of the Maly Theater of the Russian Federation.
“Boris Vladimirovich, sadly, died after an illness,” the theater noted.
In 2018, Klyuev was diagnosed with lung cancer. He suffered difficult treatment, but could not overcome the disease.
Klyuev performed on stage at the Maly Theater, acted in films and on television. His most famous roles are the Earl of Rochefort in D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers, Sherlock Holmes’s brother, Mycroft in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and Dr. Watson and Nikolai Voronin in Voronin’s sitcom.
Note that in March 2014 Klyuev signed a letter in support of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s policy regarding Russian military intervention in Ukraine.
