Sternenko was doused with an unknown substance near court in Odessa

The former head of the Odessa Right Sector, Sergei Sternenko, was doused with an unknown liquid in front of the entrance to Odessa’s Primorsky District Court on the eve of the meeting on his criminal case. This was reported by Dumskaya on Monday, August 31.

It is indicated that two of the attackers were captured. Sternenko’s guards put the activist in a car and took him away from the scene.

About 15 minutes later, Sternenko reappeared, yet he went to court and was awaiting the start of the hearing. He is surrounded by five lawyers. One of them is Masi Nayem, brother of former People’s deputy Mustafa Nayem.

In addition, a demonstration in defense of Sergei Sternenko is held near the court.

Today at the Primorsky District Court in Odessa, the first hearing is scheduled in the case of the stabbing that took place on May 24, 2018 in Fontana. Later, in a street fight, Sternenko stabbed one attacker and wounded another. The activist calls it self-defense.

Now Sternenko is charged with premeditated murder and illegal possession of cold steel (part 1 of article 115, part 2 of article 263 of the Penal Code of Uraina).
