Satellite will monitor weather conditions in Argentina
The American company SpaceX has launched the Falcon-9 launch vehicle with the Argentine sounding satellite SAOCOM 1B. The launch took place from the east coast of the United States.
About it reported on Twitter companies.
The rocket’s first stage separated in the fourth minute of flight and gently descended to a special platform near Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The weight of the SAOCOM 1B satellite is about three tons. Its task is to monitor the climatic conditions of the planet, collect information for the agricultural and forestry sector in Argentina and transmit images to the Earth that will help in the elimination of the consequences of natural disasters. To do this, the device was put into a synchronous orbit with the sun.
The satellite was commissioned by the National Space Commission of Argentina (CONAE).
This is the second SAOCOM 1B satellite launched by SpaceX. The first went into orbit in 2018.
Recall that in early August, SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket with a batch of 57 Starlink Internet satellites.
It was also reported that in late July, SpaceX launched a rocket with a satellite for the needs of South Korea.
