A March for Peace was held in the republic as a “gift” for the birthday of President Alexander Lukashenko.

The number of protesters detained by security officials in Minsk on Sunday, August 30, increased from 125 to 140, said Belarusian Interior Ministry press secretary Olga Chemodanova, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“At the moment, the number of detainees has risen to 140 people. The arrest was carried out within the framework of an administrative process,” Chemodanova said, adding that the situation on the streets of the city is under control.

Among others, the newspaper Tut reported with reference to the press service of the Interior Ministry, three people were arrested and transferred to the Leninsky district police station in the capital for alleged assault on a police car.

In addition, the arrests were carried out in cities of the republic such as Grodno, Pinsk, Orsha, Zhodino, Mogilev, notes NEXTA.

At the same time, in Minsk, the women managed to reject the young man from the security forces.

As reported, the March for Peace was held in Belarus as a “gift” for the birthday of President Alexander Lukashenko. The authorities had brought riot police to the capital even before it started.
