A French soldier charged with treason against the Russian Federation for transferring classified data

The lieutenant colonel of the French Land Forces served at a NATO military base in Italy and is accused of transferring top-secret documents to Russian special services. He was charged with high treason.

This was announced by the Minister of the French Armed Forces, Florence Parly, reports the radio station Europe 1.

The soldier was detained by the French General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) when he was about to return to Italy at the end of his vacation. He is being held in Santa’s prison in the south of Paris.

“We have taken all necessary precautions. I can confirm that the superior officer is under judicial investigation for the transfer (of documents. – Ed.) Or breach of security”, – said Parley, referring to the secrecy of the investigation.

We recall, recently in Norway a spy scandal broke out, in which an employee of the Russian embassy was accused of being involved.
