Another demonstration of the opposition against Lukashenka took place in Minsk. Local women came to the march, the rally lasted more than five hours, several thousand people, mostly women, participated in the demonstration.
The tut.by edition writes about it on their Telegram channel, and also reports “Interfax”.
According to experts, at peak times the number of participants in the march reached about 10,000 people. The main demands of the participants of the march were the release of political prisoners and the holding of new presidential elections.
The action in Minsk began on Saturday around 3:30 p.m., women with white, red and white flags, posters and flowers began to gather in Victory Square on Independence Avenue. Then they moved in the direction of Oktyabrskaya Square, but OMON pushed them aside and then the protesters went in the opposite direction: they moved to Yakub Kolas Square.
The protesters then marched along Independence Avenue, headed toward Komarovsky Market, crossed into Bangalore Square, and then dispersed.

During the action, the protesters were accompanied by riot police, trying to divide the column, periodically blocking the streets. Special vehicles and rice carts were constantly present nearby. However, the march participants managed to “flow around” the exposed laces, several times “breaking” the chains of the black-clad security officers.
Thus, according to tut.by, at the intersection of Bogdanovich and Surganov streets, OMON tried to block the movement of a column of protesters, but the women broke the block.
During the protests, the women shouted to the security forces: “No one will give you”, as well as “Shame”, already traditional in Belarusian protests.
Riot police detained several people, but today, according to messages on telegram channels, the protesters managed to fight like-minded people.
Maria Kolesnikova, an opponent who remained in the country, also joined the demonstration. She stated that the opposition calls for the resignation of the Interior Minister. Kolesnikova also called on Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s words about the new manipulation of the constitution.
The unauthorized mass protest actions, which began on the main day of voting in the presidential elections on August 9, continue for a third week in Belarus. According to official data from the CEC, the head of State Alexander Lukashenko won for the sixth time with 80.1% of the votes.
At the same time, the opposition did not recognize the results of the vote and believes that the victory was won by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who took second place. Under pressure from the republic authorities, she was forced to leave for Lithuania.
