The rapid COVID-19 test was negative
The tests will be performed on 10 medical workers and 20 pregnant women in the maternity ward.
In the village of Vorzel, Kiev region, the Irpen Central Hospital maternity hospital was quarantined due to the detection of a COVID-19 coronavirus case. This was announced by the first deputy mayor of Irpen, Alexander Markushin, on his Facebook page on Saturday, August 29.
According to him, on Thursday night an ambulance delivered a pregnant resident of Vorzel there with the threat of termination of the pregnancy. The woman had to urgently undergo a cesarean section. Because she had a fever and signs of a respiratory illness, she was given a rapid COVID-19 test. It turned out to be negative.
“Due to the direct threat to the life of the woman and the child, our doctors decided to operate immediately. After the operation, the woman was admitted to an isolation room and informed about the need for diagnostic tests for CRP. And only then did she say that she had already passed this test the day before. Today we got the results; sadly, they are positive, “Markushin wrote.
According to him, the hospital will be in quarantine for two weeks.
“There are 10 doctors who contacted the patient directly and 20 pregnant women who were in the maternity ward at the time (we did not contact the patient!). 14 pregnant women who remained alive are discharged home under the supervision of family doctors. Contact doctors are already in self-isolation. All 30 people will undergo PCR tests, “added Markushin.
Pregnant district residents will be sent for delivery to the Borodyansk Central District Hospital.
Recall that in Ukraine, the daily increase in COVID-19 cases has approached 2500. During the last day, 1,055 Ukrainians have recovered, another 41 patients have died.
