On Saturday, August 29, more than 38,000 people participated in a protest against quarantine restrictions in Berlin, during which protesters went to storm the Reichstag. More than 200 of them were arrested.
It is reported in the “Die Welt” edition.
As noted, as a result of the clashes with the protesters, seven law enforcement officers were injured.
“Protesters opposing Germany’s coronavirus policy broke the cordon of security forces near the Reichstag building,” the statement said.
Furthermore, a reporter for the DPA news agency reported that protesters climbed the Reichstag stairs. At the same time, it is observed that law enforcement officials control the situation.
Let us remember that on August 29, thousands of protests began in the German capital due to the intention of the authorities to extend the quarantine for several more months. Crowds of people gathered on the main street of Friedrichstrasse.
Later in the rally, the protesters suddenly began chanting the name of Russian President Vladimir Putin, explaining that Putin could pressure Trump. After that, clashes began between anti-quarantine agents and the police near the Russian embassy, where most of the protesters were detained.
