On Saturday, August 29, South Korean authorities announced that two Russian military planes violated the country’s air defense zone. The Korean army warned them about this, after which the planes left the area.
Yonhap agency reports.
According to the army, the Il-38 naval patrol plane presumably entered the area on Friday afternoon without warning.
The planes entered an area about 330 km southeast of Seoul, where they stayed for about 30 minutes. In this case, the borders of South Korea were not violated.
The agency also notes that the invasion took place on the last day of the joint summer military exercises of South Korea and the United States.
