In Ukraine, more than 2,400 cases of coronavirus were recorded per day

On the morning of August 28, 114,497 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Ukraine, of which 2,451 ended in death and 55,083 – in recovery. During the day, a record number of infected was detected: 2438.

A new coronavirus mortality record was also recorded in Kiev: nine people have died in the last 24 hours.

Ukrainian border guards prevented dozens of Hasidim from entering the country

Numerous pilgrims were denied entry to Ukraine because they could not confirm the purpose of their visit, the State Border Service said and noted an increase in Hasidim on the border with Ukraine in recent days.

At the same time, there was a conflict in Uman between local residents and pilgrims who tried to enter the city.

Kiev previously supported EU sanctions against Belarus

Ukraine has joined the EU statement on the situation in Belarus and is synchronizing its actions with the EU and the United States in the event of a decision on sanctions, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said, noting that all contacts with Belarus they stopped.

The court ruled the appointment of Sytnik illegal

The Constitutional Court declared illegal the decree of former President Petro Poroshenko on the appointment of Artem Sytnik as director of NABU. However, there is currently no mechanism to appoint a new department head, said Fyodor Venislavsky, the president’s representative at KSU.

At the same time, the Bureau considers that the court’s decision is politically motivated.

German doctors noticed an improvement in Navalny’s condition

Doctors at the Berlin Charite clinic said the symptoms of poisoning in Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who is being treated with them, are decreasing. However, the condition of the politician was called still difficult.
