French President Emmanuel Macron spoke out against external interference in the internal political crisis in Belarus. In his opinion, any external forced intervention would be inappropriate.

He said this during a press conference near the Eiffel Tower, Reuters reports.

According to the French president, the intervention of Russia or any other country, be it the introduction of military or internal security forces, will lead to the regionalization and internationalization of the question of Belarus.

“I think that interference is inappropriate,” he emphasized.

At the same time, Macron advocates the participation of the Russian side in the dialogue on Belarus and wants Moscow to help convince the current Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko, of the need for OSCE mediation to resolve the internal political crisis.

Let us remind you that earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he had prepared special detachments of security officials that could be dispatched to Belarus to help resolve the political crisis.

Furthermore, Lukashenko agreed with Putin on the use of a joint group of forces in the event of a military threat from the West.
