A man armed with a grenade threatened employees and visitors of a supermarket in the Smolensk district of Kiev. As a result, there were no victims.
On Friday, May 15, the capital’s police reported on Facebook.
As noted, the call came from one of the stores on Kudryashov Street. A police security detail, as well as an investigation and operation group from the Solomensky Police and Explosives Control Department, arrived at the address.
As law enforcement officers established, the man was in the supermarket without personal protective equipment, so he received a comment from the security guard. Ignoring the request to put on a mask, the visitor began to argue and took a grenade out of his pocket, threatening to detonate it, “the message says.
The 38-year-old resident of the Cherkasy region turned out to be an intruder. He was detained under art. 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.
“During a surface inspection, it was discovered that he had an RGD-5 grenade and two flares. The prohibited items were seized and sent for proper examination. The police established the origin of these munitions,” police said.
In fact, a pre-trial investigation was initiated under part 4 of art. 296 (vandalism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A man faces up to seven years in prison.
