Kiev authorities are ready to open the metro as soon as the Cabinet of Ministers allows it. This was during a briefing, said the mayor of the capital Vitali Klitschko.
“We will be ready to resume work as soon as the government allows it. Until the subway carried passengers, all the work necessary to maintain the infrastructure continued: replacing rails, sleepers, repairing escalators, railcars, and updating ventilation equipment,” said.
According to Klitschko, at the moment, the accessibility program is being worked on at the Lukyanovskaya and Syrets stations.
“It provides the provision of touch bands, navigation, and replacement of entrance groups for free access for people with limited mobility,” said the mayor.
He also pointed out that in the subway there was regular disinfection of lobbies, trains, lockers and platforms. Klitschko said that after the restart of the subway, these measures will be strengthened.
