Slovenia was the first country in Europe to announce this, Reuters reports.
It is observed that in the last two weeks the number of new coronavirus infections in the country did not exceed seven per day.
In total, in Slovenia, where about two million people live, 1464 cases of coronavirus infection were detected, 103 people died.
The end of the epidemic means that some measures, including financial assistance to citizens and businesses affected by the coronavirus, expire in late May.
Now people arriving in Slovenia from other EU countries are not required to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
At the same time, foreigners with signs of coronavirus will not be able to enter the country.
In addition, mandatory quarantine will be maintained for residents of non-EU countries, with the exception of diplomats and those who transport goods.
For Slovenian citizens, it is still necessary to observe security measures, in particular wearing masks in closed public places, maintaining a social distance of 1.5 meters and disinfecting hands at the entrance to a public place.
Since mid-March, all schools, sports and cultural institutions, bars, restaurants, hotels and shops, except for food stores and pharmacies, have been closed in Slovenia, and public transport did not work either.
The government began to weaken the quarantine on April 20. Public transportation resumed work this week, and some students will return to school next week. All bars and restaurants as well as small hotels with 30 rooms will be open next week.
