The COVID-19 coronavirus killed one famous Ukrainian oncologist, cancer surgeon Igor Zakala. The doctor fought for life for almost three weeks, most of the time Igor Stepanovich was connected to an artificial lung ventilation device.

The head of the dispensary department of the Carpathian Clinical Oncology Center passed away on Wednesday, May 13, writes the local edition of Voice.if.ua. The doctor reportedly went to the Central City Clinical Hospital on April 24. And already on the 28th, Igor Zakal had to connect to a fan.

“We grieved with our family, friends and comrades over the great loss: Igor Stepanovich Zakala was killed by an inexorable illness … He was always tolerant, calm, balanced, moderate.” Eternal memory ”, said the City Council Health Department in a statement.
