Former Deputy Foreign Minister and Adviser to NAK Naftogaz Ukraine Chief of Staff Elena Zerkal led the organization of work and support of international arbitration and foreign litigation and enforcement procedures in disputes with Gazprom and in cases against the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the company’s press service.
The company noted that these responsibilities Zerkal received in connection with the transformation of the Naftogaz group’s organizational structure.
Previously, Yury Vitrenko participated in the arbitration management with Gazprom in Naftogaz, who announced the previous day, on May 13, that his position in the company was being reduced.
Mirror received a position at Naftogaz in January this year. It was later reported that the scope of its activities will include supporting the company’s position in international litigation and arbitration, particularly with respect to the assets of the Naftogaz group seized by Russia in Crimea.
As Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Zerkal participated in explaining the risks and opposed the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. He also participated in the Ukrainian team for two years in negotiations to extend the transit of Russian gas to Europe after 2019.
