Cabinet launches new model of public transport

They want to replace the minibuses with buses and electric buses, however, in each city, the local authorities will make the decision.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic in Ukraine, they can introduce a new model of public transport. The Ministry of Infrastructure has started a bill, said Thursday, May 14, the head of the department Vladislav Krikli on the air 1 + 1.

According to him, the model should allow replacing minibuses with buses, electric buses. Krikliy added that these will be normal carriers that will provide services to the city and public services.

At the same time, Krikliy did not say when such public transport would appear on city streets, saying that “it is already a question for local authorities whether they are ready to issue minibuses.”

It was previously reported that restoration of passenger traffic will begin on May 22. It is supposed to take place in three stages.
