Former people’s deputy Igor Mosiychuk said the SBU is conducting searches and mass arrests at Odessa customs. He posted photos and videos of the scene on Facebook.
At the same time, journalist Yevgeny Plinsky announced on the Telegram channel about the arrest of the bribery of Odessa Customs chief Mikhail Gribanov.
SBU spokeswoman Elena Gitlyanskaya told UNIAN that no one has been detained so far, investigative actions are underway.
“No one has been arrested yet, investigative actions are underway,” an SBU representative said.
Mikhail Gribanov began working as head of Odessa Customs on March 6, becoming the winner of the first open competition of the State Customs Service of Ukraine for leadership positions in the regions.
According to media reports, the official was dismissed from customs in 2012 after a scandal related to the smuggling of electronic products. He appeared in a criminal case, but did not become a defendant.
