Rejected Ukrainian coronavirus test systems

Ukrainian test systems declared inadequate, manufacturer disagrees

The Public Health Center had no right to test the tests, the company said. They intend to send them to WHO for verification.

The Public Health Center refused to verify its coronavirus test systems, issued by the Ukrainian company Ukrgentech. According to Bijan Sharopov, a company biologist, the verification tests will be sent to the World Health Organization, writes LIGA.net on Wednesday, May 13.

The company believes that the public health center did not have the authority to verify its tests and did so in violation of the procedure.

The company insists that each laboratory that receives the reagents must verify the tests: for example, take 20 samples, reliable negative and reliable positive, and see if the tests work.

According to him, Sharopov, in the TsOZ experiment “a suspiciously wide extension” of the sensitivity of the test: they carried out three studies “with the same material”, obtaining a result of 20%, 50% and 100%.

“This is how the temperature is measured and first you get 32 degrees, after three minutes – 36, and after three more – 38. Then it makes sense to check the thermometer itself,” he said.

Sharopov claims that the original public investigation data was not provided by the public health center at Ukrgentech’s request. The company is now conducting an independent test study at the Gromashevsky Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases.

The company has filed an application with the WHO, which now runs free tests of test systems worldwide.

Previously, the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, said that PCR tests to detect the Ukrainian-made coronavirus do not differ in quality to determine infection from German, Korean and Chinese. At the same time, he called the company that produces the tests, but earlier called him Ukrgentekh.
