Smoly made a report in Parliament

At first, the IMF simply demanded to vote on the law, then pass it on second reading, and now it will not give money until it is signed by the president.

The head of the National Bank, Yakov Smoly, says that Ukraine will receive the tranche from the IMF after the president signed the law on banks. He said this after speaking in the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday, May 13, PavlovskyNEWS reports.

According to him, after that a meeting of the Board of Directors will be planned and in a few days Ukraine will receive a tranche.

Previously, the IMF demanded that the law be passed at second reading, but before that it would be easy to vote for it.

The head of the NBU assured that after the approval of the law, the banks will be supervised not by the regulator, but by the laws on banks and banking activities, as well as the law on the Deposit Guarantee Fund.

He claims that thanks to the law, the NBU will not receive additional powers.

Meanwhile, MP Anton Polyakov said he blocked signing the law by presenting a draft resolution on abolishing the results of today’s vote.

Before the Rada considers this draft resolution, neither the Speaker of Parliament nor the President can sign it.
