The terrorists attacked a hospital in Kabul and a funeral procession in the eastern province of the country.

Two terrorist attacks occurred in Afghanistan today: a hospital in Kabul and a funeral ceremony in Nangarhar province, where some 30 people died. RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to CBS News.

This morning, unidentified men broke into the maternity ward of a hospital in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul. There were several attackers. According to the Interior Ministry, at least three fighters in police uniforms entered the hospital, after which they threw several grenades and began firing. Police reported the removal of three attackers. As a result of the attack, 14 people died, and many were injured of varying severity.

The second attack occurred in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan. The bomb exploded at the funeral of the police chief of one of the districts. The representative of the provincial government Attaullah Hogyani said that at the moment it is not known with certainty if it was a bomb explosion or if the device was activated by a suicide bomber. The incident killed at least 15 people, another 56 were injured.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Recall that in early March there was a shooting in Kabul during a ceremony on the anniversary of the death of the leader of the Mujahideen, in which Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah participated. Later, at least 32 people became victims of the attack by Islamic State militants.

A month later, in Afghanistan, the head of the local branch of ISIS, Aslam Faruki, was arrested. Local security services said Faruki was responsible for the attack on the Sikh temple in Kabul.

ISIS has been active in Afghanistan since 2015. Since then, jihadists have launched a series of terrorist attacks in the country. Recently, the military in Afghanistan, the United States, and militants of the radical Islamic Taliban movement have been fighting at the same time.
