The Prime Minister said that the massive issuance of permits to connect to the grid became one of the causes of the crisis in the energy market.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal begins the creation of a working group under the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection to investigate the issuance of Ukrenergo permits to connect to the electricity grid. He said this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Energy and Housing Committee, broadcasts RBC-Ukraine.
According to the Prime Minister, this fact has become one of the causes of the crisis in the energy market.
“I am ready to create a working group under the ministry that understands how an unlimited number of permits were issued to join the energy system, leading to such distortions when we are forced to enter into difficult negotiations (with renewable energy investors – ed.) And when super expensive green energy becomes cheap atomic, “he said.
According to him, he supports the development of renewable energy, but its price should be reduced.
“Green energy is very good and we will get to it, but it should be cheap,” said the prime minister.
He also said that on Thursday he will hold a meeting with key players in the renewable energy market to discuss the terms of the agreements for further development of the industry.
At the same time, he did not rule out amendments to the legislation, allowing generations of renewable sources to sell their electricity under direct contracts.
He also said that NEC Ukrenergo will be instructed to prepare a detailed report on the status of integration into ENTSO-E.
“Allow them to prepare a report where we are now on those procedures and complete the tasks to join ENTSO-E. At the same time, we will verify the management capacity of the company,” said Shmygal.
Recall, it was previously reported that Olga Buslavets called the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) and other law enforcement agencies to investigate the activities or inaction of officials that led to the actual bankruptcy of the energy industry.
