Ukrainian nuclear power plants Significant reduction in energy production. This was reported by “Nashi Groshі” with reference to the data of the state company “Ukrenergo”.

In particular, the generation capacity of nuclear power plants as of May 10 fell to 7.41 thousand MW, which is 53% of the total installed capacity of nuclear power plants. It is emphasized that in the last five years this is the lowest capacity of nuclear power plants for every second Sunday in May with the maximum energy consumption.

At the same time, as of Monday, May 11, 2020, the capacity of nuclear power plants is 7.25 thousand MW.

It is also noted that the drop in nuclear power plant capacities is occurring against the background of a general drop in electricity consumption in Ukraine due to a reduction in production and a coronavirus disease pandemic.

Recall that in early May, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation launched an investigation into possible illegal actions by officials of the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine in connection with a decrease in the power of energy units nuclear in favor of increasing the volume of electricity purchased from private companies.

As RBC-Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy wrote instructed Energoatom to explore the possibility of cryptocurrency mining. The instructions indicate that this problem must be resolved to ensure additional markets for excess electricity.
