The promised grants to work with coronavirus patients were received by doctors in the Poltava region.
The surcharge for working with coronavirus patients was received only by doctors from one region: Poltava, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said Monday, May 11.
“The only region that really paid in full is precisely the Poltava region, on average each health worker who worked with COVID-19 was paid approximately 21 thousand UAH, these are exactly 300% they should have received.” He said during a visit to the Poltava region.
The Ministry of Health promises to study the situation with the payment of emission rights in other regions.
Stepanov also said that during a work trip he will study the experience of a pilot project in the Poltava region on introducing the basic principles of health system reform.
“Poltava was chosen because last year, starting on April 1, it was the Poltava region that worked on a pilot project, it was specifically designed to make the transition in secondary and tertiary care medicine reform comfortable But if you look at which pilot Poltava worked on “and look at what has been presented to us since April 1, these are completely different things,” the minister said.
In addition, he said that more than 3,000 doctors have already been infected with the coronavirus.
“During the last day, 416 people became ill. Of these, 27 children and 62 health workers. 132 people were hospitalized. 17 deaths were recorded during the last day. At the same time, 228 patients recovered. In total, during the whole pandemic, 15 648 people got sick. ” there are 1,083 children as well as 3,026 health workers, “said Stepanov.
A total of 181,552 samples were studied in Ukraine by PCR.
As a result of complications caused by the disease, 408 people died, including 22 health workers.
In total, 3,288 patients have already recovered, including 824 paramedics.
On Stepanov’s eve he said that the salary of doctors should start from 25 thousand hryvnia per month. The Ministry of Health expects that next year the cost of medicine will be 6% of GDP, as in European countries.
