On Sunday May 10, the chief doctor of the Ivano-Frankivsk ambulance station, Igor Kovalyuk, died, whose coronavirus was confirmed 6 days ago. RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the Facebook of Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv.
Kovalyuk is reported to have died at 58 years of age.
“It is impossible to prepare for death. Everyone faces the loss of loved ones, relatives, many are familiar with the pain of loss. Today the chief physician of the Ivano-Frankivsk ambulance station Igor Kovalyuk died,” wrote the head of the city.
The cause of death for the chief physician has yet to be named. At the same time, on May 4, Marcinkiv said six residents were hospitalized at a medical center in Ivano-Frankivsk per day, including the head of the ambulance station. His condition was evaluated as serious.
We will recall that the previous Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, said that no more than 15% of all those infected with COVID-19 are in hospitals. According to him, decisions about hospitalization are made by doctors based on standards approved by the Ministry of Health.
Recall that in Ukraine during the last day another 522 cases of COVID-19 were registered, and the total number of cases is 15,232. At the same time, almost 400 people died from the disease.
