The first signs of his illness were reported to have appeared on April 1 (fever and shortness of breath). Due to his deteriorating health, he was sent to the Lviv Regional Hospital for Infectious Diseases on April 8, where he was hospitalized in the intensive care unit, was connected to a ventilator (IVL) and received the necessary treatment. COVID-19 acute respiratory illness was confirmed by PCR testing on April 12. Today, April 16, at 10:20, he died.
According to reports, the man, in addition to COVID-19, had comorbidities.
The medical force command sympathizes with the family and relatives of the deceased.
As reported by UNIAN, as of 7:00 p.m. on April 16, the Armed Forces reported 28 cases of COVID-19 disease, and during the last 24 hours, 5 new cases have been confirmed.
The first fatal COVID-19 incident occurred on April 7, when a woman working in one of the military units in Ivano-Frankivsk died.
