On the night of Friday, May 1, the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant disconnected Unit 4 from the country’s power system to carry out scheduled repairs, the Energoatom press service said.

“On May 1, 2020, at 00:01, the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant’s No. 4 power unit was disconnected from the grid and capitalized for scheduled preventive repair,” the report said.

The network contains 2 power units with a total capacity of 1,970 MW.

It is specified that in the power unit No. 3 there are 134 days of planned revision, in the power unit No. 5 16 days of planned average repair. Unit 2 is in reserve.

“There are no comments on the operation of the main equipment of the existing power units and personnel. The radiation background in the area of ​​the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant and in the health protection zone (the area around the nuclear power plant with a radius of 2.5 km) is 8-12 microroentgen per hour, which corresponds to the background of natural radiation. ” observed in the Energoatom.
