SBU announced the completion of the pre-trial investigation into the murder of Catherine Gandzyuk

The suspect in organizing the attack on Kherson activist Yekaterina Gandzyuk, Alexei Levin, gave no direct evidence about the possible client of the head of the Kherson regional council, Vladislav Manger. This was in an interview with “Gromadsky,” said Attorney General Irina Venediktova.

At the same time, he stated that he was not a prosecutor in the case and that he had no right to disclose details.

“He (Levin, – ed.) Gave no direct evidence about Manger. But there is enough evidence in the case, “he said.

Recall that the Ukrainian Security Service completed a pre-trial investigation into the Gandzyuk murder. According to the SBU, former head of the Kherson regional council Vladislav Manger, by previous conspiracy with an assistant consultant to a deputy of the same council, Alexei Levin, organized the imposition of severe bodily harm on Gandzyuk, which led to his death.

At the same time, as reported in the OSU, Levin refused to testify and carry out investigative actions with him.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, in March the investigation in the Gandzyuk case continued until July.

The investigation was intensified after the extradition of Alexei Levin from Bulgaria, where he was long hidden under a false name.

The attack on Gandzyuk occurred in 2018, an unknown person sprayed her with concentrated sulfuric acid near the house. The burns represented more than 30% of the body, the victim was taken to Kiev and given protection. Two weeks later, the former ATO participants who carried out the attack were detained.

Katerina Gandzyuk died on November 4, 2018 at the age of 34 from the effects of an acid attack. Doctors called the immediate cause of death a clot.
