The situation on the Kislitsa peninsula called “grim”
Furthermore, according to the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, about 100 Ukrainian citizens are detained in Crimea, the Russian Federation intimidates the Crimean Tatars and destroyed the OCU.
Since the beginning of the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation in 2014, 45 thousand citizens have left the peninsula. At the same time, the occupying state moves its own population there, contrary to the Geneva conventions and protocols. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kislitsa, during a speech at the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, according to the Facebook page of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN.
“Russia continues to intimidate the Crimean Tatar Muslims and almost completely destroyed the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the peninsula. All of this is just part of the bleak picture of what was once a hospitable Ukrainian peninsula,” Kislitsa added.
He also stated that around 100 Ukrainian citizens are illegally detained in prisons on political charges.
As a reminder, the UN has endorsed a new resolution on human rights in Crimea. The approval of the project is an important contribution to the continuation of international pressure on the Russian Federation, explained the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, Russia complained to the UN about Ukraine because of Crimea, due to the situation with the supply of fresh water to the inhabitants of the peninsula.
