During the coronavirus pandemic in Ukraine about 34 thousand health workers resigned.
This was announced by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, on the “Strana” talk show on “Channel 5”. The exact number is not yet known, as some doctors and other hospital staff have moved to work in other medical facilities. (scroll to the bottom to see the video).
At the same time, the salary of medical workers is scheduled to start in 2021 from 22-25 thousand hryvnia… The Ministry of Health insists on this.
“This is one of the main factors to stop the departure of our citizens, our doctors, our medical workers abroad.”, – said the head of the department.
Stepanov said that all healthcare workers are valuable to them, not just a doctor.
“Currently I do not have precise information on the number of those who quit smoking, but this is about 34 thousand. Sometimes they quit and move to other hospitals, to other medical institutions. Therefore, we will be able to do this analysis on all statistical data at the end of the corresponding year, when possible. you will fully compare and see how many workers have completely left the healthcare system “– said the minister.
He added that it is necessary to see why medical workers are leaving.
“We have underestimated the work of medical workers. Our task is finally to have the work of medical workers evaluated as they need it.”, – summed up Stepanov.
