For graduates planning to pursue higher education, an independent external evaluation will be conducted on time, the Center for Evaluation of the Quality of Education said.

Against the background of the coronavirus pandemic, graduates of Ukrainian schools in 2021 may be exempted from mandatory state final certification (GIA) in the form of external independent evaluation. Acting informed about this in the comments to the portal “Osvita.ua” Valery Boyko, director of the Ukraine Center for the evaluation of the quality of education.

The format of VNO-2021 was discussed at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on education, science and innovation, which took place on December 2.

According to Boyko, the UTSOKO has developed several models for the conduct of the UPE in 2021. Some of them offer an exemption from the mandatory tests.

The center has identified a priority model, in which the final state certification will be made at the choice of the graduate: either in an educational institution (in writing or orally, in particular, using distance technologies), or in the form of VNO. For school graduates planning to receive higher education, UPE will be held on time according to certain testing regulations, reports “Osvita.ua “.

The final state certification results will be established for all graduates who complete their general secondary education.

“If this model is chosen, the number of UPE participants in each subject and, consequently, the total number of tests will decrease. This situation is due to the fact that a significant part of the test participants from among the students of higher education Technical education) is registered to participate in the UPE solely for the purpose of passing the GIA ”, – explained Boyko.

It indicated that according to current legislation, the approval of the EIS at the level of complete secondary education in the state language, mathematics and other subjects must necessarily be carried out in the form of VNO, except in cases determined by law.

“In case of choosing such a model for the celebration of WNV-2021, the Verkhovna Rada should adopt the appropriate legislative changes that standardize the possibility of maintaining the GIA at the level of complete general secondary education in 2021, not only in the form of VNO “. director.

The main session of the UPE in 2020 lasted from June 25 to July 17. During this time, graduates passed the VNO in mathematics (152.1 thousand people), Ukrainian language and literature (275.08 thousand), physics (22.2 thousand), English (105.1 thousand) and other foreign languages.
