Ukrainian tourists returning from Zanzibar said they took off only on the fourth attempt.

180 Ukrainians, who were unable to fly from Zanzibar due to difficulties with the plane, returned to Kiev on February 16. This was announced by the television channel Ukraine 24.

Passengers on the plane that arrived at Boryspil airport told the journalist that “the trip was great”, but the plane broke down.

“The problem was a small detail that could be changed in an hour. But since we had to get him out of Ukraine, our flight was delayed for three days. We are at the airport.” [в Занзибаре] We went out four times, and only from the fourth time we were able to fly to Ukraine, “said Roman Shevchenko, a tourist from Dnipro.

He pointed out that the first day they rented a hotel, “without registering in the rooms, so people slept on deckchairs, slept on the grass, on the beach, on the sand”, after which they were accommodated for the night in a “haven in the market”.

The Ukrainians arrived on the plane of the Ukrainian airline SkyUp. On Facebook, he wrote on February 15 that the flight from Zanzibar will be via Antalya in Turkey.

Flight PQ6972 was supposed to take off on February 13 at 12.50, but this did not happen due to an aircraft breakdown. Passengers complained that not all were given accommodation while waiting for departure. Those who were housed in hotels and hostels reported poor conditions and unsanitary conditions. SkyUp regretted the inconvenience, explaining that they were unable to “immediately provide passengers with comfortable accommodation” due to the high season in Zanzibar.

The company said the plane was repaired a few hours after the breakdown, but the flight was delayed due to the need to make changes to the route and obtain permits from countries whose borders the board crosses.
