UFC 257 medical suspension: Connor McGregor is likely out for six months

Conor McGregor may have titled the first UFC pay-view of the year, but it could be a while before we see “infamous” in action again.

In the lightweight main event of UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, McGregor lost to Dustin Poirier in the second round. His fall was caused by several stinging leg kicks and was reflected in the official medical suspension list from MixedMartiarts.com.

McGregor needs an X-ray negative result on his right tibia / fibula, otherwise he will be suspended for 180 days. Porrier was given a seven-day suspension for compulsory rest.

The other two fighters are also likely to face a six-month suspension, lightweight Matt Frevola (right arm) and middle weight Andrew Sanchez (nasal, left TBI / Fibula). Both need negative X-rays in their injured areas to avoid maximum suspension.
