Postmates pioneered food delivery in 2011, but is a distant fourth in the US market compared to DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats services. Together, however, Uber Eats and Postmates will be second only to the market after DoorDash, which still has a huge lead.
uber is buying mail carriers. As a part-time courier who works for both of you, this is bad news. While both are strong anti-worker companies, fewer and fewer players mean less worker influence against platform capitalists. with less and less options, we will be exploited even more severely

Both Uber and Postmates are negative cash operations, with Uber having only lost $ 2.9 billion in the first quarter of 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis. Food delivery companies, which rely on non-full-time “job workers,” are difficult to distinguish from a consumer perspective other than price. As such, larger fish swallow smaller fish to control costs and prices, to the detriment of restaurants, users and, in particular, workers.
“As a part-time courier who works for both of us [Postmates and Uber Eats] This is bad news, ”wrote journalist and concert worker Wilfred Chan on Twitter. “While both are strong anti-worker companies, fewer and fewer larger players mean even less worker influence against platform capitalists. With the decline in options, we will be exploited even more severely. ”
