The revolt by fans over the possible appointment of interim coach Kevin Steele as the main candidate should not be ignored by the administration, even if Steele remains in Uburn as co-ordinator or head coach. Things need to change before Ub Burn can bring competitive jumps from good to great.
Maybe it needs to be done this way so that the terms of how ubburn came here in the first place can come up. How can the Tigers expect to have their own competition against Alabama and Georgia if one can’t even run a proper coaching search?
The best owners of a professional game write checks and get out. They know how to do this because they are trying to run really successful businesses that need to make money to pay the players. When Alabama hired Nick Saban, Rich Rodriguez did so after he was denied a job. It was embarrassing for an uncomfortable time (about a month). Booster and trustees in Alabama realized that when they rented soap away from the dolphins no one would tell them what to do, because it would just run.
